I was pleased with the work kai did to replace the faulty part on the heating system, as a result there are no problems now and the heating is now operating efficiently and correctly.

This is a reliable, professional and trustworthy company that I would highly recommend.
A few years ago I needed a replacement boiler, TM Hughes sourced it, supplied and fitted it efficiently and tidily. My late husband was ill with dementia at the time, but the plumbing and heating engineer, Pawel, took everything in his stride and was kind, friendly and respectful with him.
After installation he checked each radiator carefully. He was polite and his work was clean and tidy. Since then I have continued to use TM Hughes and Pawel has done the annual boiler service each year. I wouldn't hesitate to contact Terry, the owner, if I had a plumbing or heating problem as I know that I can rely on Pawel to do what's best. He takes a genuine interest in his customers and won't advise you to do something that is unnecessary.
Thank you Terry for a company of which you should be proud.

For those with low mains water pressure, a Shower Pump is an effective, low-cost solution that will take your low-pressure water and redistribute it at high pressure to your shower and taps.

We fit all types of shower pump which there are several variations. The type of shower pump you need will depend on your existing system and water pressure. Our plumbers will determine the best pump for your current system and home.

Universal Or Standard Pump?

Standard Pumps

Standard Pumps are used in positive head situations with gravity fed open vented systems.

Universal Pumps

Universal pumps can be used in both positive and negative head situations, and unlike standard pumps, they donโ€™t require gravity.

Impellor Single or Double?

Shower pumps are available with single or double impellors

  • Single impellers power hot or cold water only
  • Double impellors power both hot and cold water

Positive or Negative Head?

The type of head you require will depend on the set up of your system.

If you have a gravity-fed system, then a Positive head pump will be required. The pump is fitted below the water tank.

When the fitting of a Positive Head Pump is not possible, a negative head pump will be used, which is fitted inline or above the water tank and pulls water (instead of being fed) from the supply, delivered to the shower.

Pump Pressure

Pumps are rated between 0.5 and 4 bar, the pressure you require will depend on your existing system and the number of bathrooms you want to supply

  • 0.5 โ€“ 1.5 bar pumps will provide a low boost to your existing mains pressure
  • 1.5 โ€“ 3.0 bar pumps are used for single showers and bathrooms
  • 2.0 โ€“ 4.5 bar pumps are used for two showers and bathrooms

If you would like advice on Shower Pumps or want one of our plumbers to install a new pump or repair an existing one, please contact us using the phone number or email below.
