The engineer was very friendly and supportive . He listened to my plumbing problem and was able to quickly check the fault and found that it was due to a inflow water pipe from the hot water cylinder to the electric pump that had been left closed after the overhead water tank had been completely drained by a previous plumber (from another company) in order to carry out replacement of the electric heating filament of the hot water tank . The engineer opened the valve of the outflow pipe so that we could have hot water once again flowing to the electric pump in the attic and from there through to the shower after about 2 months of being in a limbo caused by the carelessness of the other company who refused to accept any responsibility to re-look at what may have happened and remedy this problem .

Central Heating Controls are required to correctly set your heating and hot water, ensuring they turn on and off when needed to keep your energy usage to a minimum.

Old, faulty or poorly set Central Heating Controls can result in wasted energy (and money). Our Heating Engineers can install, replace and set all forms of Heating Programmers.

A modern, optimised Central Heating System will have

A Thermostat – sets the desired temperature of your home
A Programmer – sets the times that the Central Heating and Hot Water Cylinder are on
Thermostatic Radiator Valves – regulates the temperature of each room
Central Heating systems with a cylinder will also have a cylinder thermostat

Older central heating systems may have a timer and a thermostat, resulting in reduced energy efficiency.

Room Thermostats

A room thermostat measures the room temperature and instructs your heating system when to turn on and turn off, ensuring your home stays at your desired temperature.

You set your preferred temperature with the thermostat. When the room drops below this setting, the heating will turn on, and then once the set room temperature has been achieved, the heating will switch off.

A thermostat ensures your home is never too hot or too cold with excellent energy efficiency.

Room Thermostats are available with a traditional dial, digital and wired or wireless.

Traditional dials are simple and easy to use
Digital Thermostats are more accurate and can be programmed
Wired Thermostats are fixed to a permanent spot on the wall and hardwired directly to the central heating system
Wireless Thermostats are mobile and can be used in any room of the house

Programmers

Programmers allow you to set the times for your heating and hot water; the hot water also has a boost override switch which means hot water can be switched on if required outside the usual set times.

Heating and Hot water can be set to come on at different times on different days. Setting your programmer so you have your heating and hot water only when you need it ensures there’s no wasted energy which will save you money.

Thermostatic Radiator Valves

Thermostatic Radiator Valves or TRV’s control the flow of hot water to each radiator. Once the preset room temperature has been reached, they will switch off. TRV’s allow different temperatures for different rooms and are very energy efficient.

Cylinder Thermostats

Cylinder thermostats ensure that heated water from the boiler will fill your hot water cylinder first (making hot water a priority). Once the cylinder is full hot water will be delivered to your central heating system.
