A Saniflo system is a macerator pump. It grinds solid waste into a slurry and pumps it through narrow pipes into your home’s existing waste line. With minimal work, we can install a Saniflo-based bathroom in a loft, garage, basement, or outbuilding.

How Exactly Does It Work?

When you flush, the system’s macerator blades turn on, breaking the waste into tiny particles. The slurry is pushed through small-bore piping to your main sewer or septic system. Although the unit uses a pump instead of relying on gravity, the end destination for the waste is identical to any other toilet, shower, sink or basin.

Where Does the Waste Go, and How Far Can It Pump?

A Saniflo sends waste into the same sewer line or tank your existing household drains use. The difference is that the waste arrives via a pressurised system rather than gravity-fed pipes. Saniflo units can pump vertically up to 5 metres and horizontally around 100 metres (although exact distances depend on the model). Saniflos flexibility is often a revelation for Harlow homeowners who didn’t think they could fit a bathroom in an awkward area of their home.
