TM Hughes & Son offers gas cooker installation and disconnection in Wickford.
Gas cookers and hobs are very popular in the Wickford area. Gas provides several benefits over electricity with instant heat, precision heat control and better heat distribution. Gas is a cheaper and greener fuel too.
While Gas is an excellent fuel, it must be treated with respect. Gas is potentially dangerous, more so than electricity.
If you have purchased a gas cooker or hob, it must be fitted professionally by a Gas Safe Registered engineer. Gas appliance installation is not a ‘do it yourself job.
Also, Gas cooker warranties and home insurance policies require professional installation as a validation term.

Gas Cooker Fitting Requirements
The area around gas cookers and hobs must be clear of combustible materials. This area is called the hot zone.
A clearance of 750mm above the hob/cooker and 50mm on each side is required.
No shelving, kitchen units, cabinets, cables, trunking, switches, wallpaper, wood or anything else that is flammable can be in the hot zone.
Our engineer will check the space before installing your new cooker.
Also, gas cookers and hobs must be fitted within 1.5 meters of a gas connection.
If you think there may be an issue with the fitting requirements in your kitchen, please get in touch with us, and one of our engineers will advise on what to do.
