Power Flush Services In Benfleet & surrounding areas undertaken by Gas Safe Registered Engineers.
Powerflushing is a central heating maintenance procedure that removes an unwanted and disruptive substance known in the trade as ‘sludge’ from your central heating system.
Sludge is a mixture of limescale, rust and other debris generated by central heating systems. The particles break down and settle in the bottom of radiators and pipes, building up over time.
The sludge build-up prevents your radiators from heating properly and thoroughly, consuming more energy and costing more to run while putting unnecessary strain on your Boiler, pump, radiators and valves.
A highly undesirable outcome, especially in the age of soaring energy bills. The good news is that sludge is easily eliminated with Powerflushing.
How Powerflushing Works
One of our Gas Safe Registered engineers attaches a machine to your central heating system at a suitable point.
The Powerlflushing machine pumps a unique water mix and chemicals through your central heating system under pressure.
The pressurised flush gradually dislodges the sludge, which circulates back to the machine, where it is filtered out and collected.
The machine keeps running until all the sludge has been removed. Once the engineer is satisfied, your system is thoroughly cleansed. It’s filled with clean water and an inhibitor to help prevent sludge build-up in the future.
All dirty wastewater is taken away by the engineer.
After flushing, your central heating system will run better at a higher efficiency. As a result, your radiators will feel hotter. As a result, your home will feel cosier.
Is Powerflushing Necessary?
Powerflushing is a good idea for many households. Use these questions to determine if you need a Powerlfush.
Have you undertaken a Powerflush in the past five years?
Ideally, central heating systems should be power flushed every five years. Periodic Powerlflushing ensures your systems are kept clear and your Boilers safe from a limescale blockage (blockages in the heat exchanger can be damaging and expensive). If your system hasn’t been flushed in the past five years, you should have a Powerflush.
Is your radiator water brown or black?
Bleed your radiator. If the Water’s clear or grey, then you have a healthy central heating system and no Powerflush is required.
If your Water’s brown, you likely have sludge in the system. If it’s black, then you have a more severe sludge issue. Get your system Powerflushed.
Cold Radiators
Radiators should be hot all over. Switch your heating on and check them.
If any of your radiators are cold at the top, they need bleeding. If this is the case, bleed your radiators and check again.
Radiators should be hot all over. If they are cold at the bottom or, worse, cold at the bottom and middle, then sludge has built up in the radiators, and it’s time for a Powerflush.
Any Radiators that don’t work?
If you have any radiators that don’t work, it could be a problem with the valves. Otherwise, your radiators and pipes are so clogged with sludge that they need Powerflushing.
Slow heating Radiators
A clean, fully functioning central heating system will heat radiators quickly. However, if your radiators take a long time to warm up, you may need to flush your system.
Are you having a new Boiler installed?
All new Boiler Installations should be accompanied by a Powerflush (even if your systems are relatively clean). New Boiler warranties are not valid unless the system’s been flushed before fitting.
If you’re not sure if your central heating system needs flushing or not, one of our engineers can check your system to determine whether a flush is required or not.
The Benefits OF Power Flushing
Power Flushing offers many benefits these include
Dirty Water & Sludge Is Fully Removed
Dirty Water caused by sludge build-ups is corrosive to central heating systems. Removing all sludge and dirty Water ensures minimal wear and tear on your system and Boiler.
Future Sludge Build-Up Is Prevented
After flushing, a corrosion inhibitor is added, which goes a long way in preventing sludge from occurring again in the future.
Clean Systems Are Quieter
Noisy central heating systems are annoying. After flushing, your system will run smoother and quieter.
Energy Efficiency Is Increased
Your Boiler and system run smoother with clean water-energy efficiency increased, leading to improved energy spend and lower fuel bills.
Boiler Protection
Your Boiler will be less likely to suffer from a breakdown following Powerflushing.
Warranty Validation
If you have a new Boiler installed, a Powerflush beforehand ensures your warranty is valid.
Inexpensive
Powerflushing is inexpensive and, in the long run, should save you money on better energy efficiency and fewer Boiler/central heating faults/repairs.
Industry Standard Machines & Chemicals
We use Kamco Powerflushing machines and chemicals, the industry standard.
