The Style, Design & Look Of Your New Bathroom
Every bathroom is different. This is because there is a nearly endless range of colours, textures, styles and designs of materials.
The wide range of materials allows us to create any look or style of bathroom.
You can choose your own materials based on your tastes to create your own unique bathroom style.
Alternatively, we can build a bathroom based on an existing style. Maybe a style you have seen on a website or social media you want to replicate.
Or, if you’re unsure, we can build a bathroom based on an established design and style, for example.
Coastal: A white and blue design utilising tiles and treated wood panelling, very apt for Leigh On Sea residents.
Contemporary/Modern: A modern style built using a range of everyday materials on the walls and floors, A modern suites, radiators, taps and lighting.
Country/Farmhouse: Traditional style bathrooms, including wood panelling, traditional style suite, fixtures and fittings.
Modern/Minimal: Light and airy colours all round with a modern suite and fittings, the bathroom looks more prominent and uncluttered.
Vintage: Built with reclaimed materials or distressed looking materials to give a vintage look. Includes traditional style suite and taps.
Victorian: Black and white tiles on floor and walls. Traditional suite with high cistern and old school pillar taps.
There are Lots More: These are only a few styles we can recreate. These are just a few examples. Speak to our bathroom fitter for more information.
Heating & Electrical
Before installing your bathroom, we ensure the Plumbing’s in place for your heating and the cables are in the right areas for lighting, switches and shaver sockets.
Radiators: Most bathrooms have radiators fitted to compliment your design. Modern traditional, standard, horizontal and heated towel rails are some examples.
Underfloor Heating: Heat your bathroom from the floor up. You’ll appreciate the warm floor when you step out of the bath. Again, we fit both wet and electric style systems.
Lighting: Bathroom lighting is fitted flush or semi-flush into the ceiling for protection from heat and moisture. Lots of different light designs are available to compliment all types of bathrooms. Additional lighting can be fitted above mirrors also.
Bathroom Flooring
Bathroom Flooring has to withstand water while working with the design and look. Water makes surfaces slippery. Some flooring is grippier than others, which must be considered, especially if children or older people use the bathroom.
- Concrete: Treated concrete works very well in modern bathrooms. It’s highly water-resistant but will need maintenance with further treatments every couple of years.
- Tiles: Floor tiles made from Porcelain will last many years. Thousands of colours and designs are available in various textures and shapes.
- Rubber: Not the best-looking material but very grippy and soft in case of slippage, ideal for older people.
- Vinyl: A cheaper alternative to Porcelain tiles, again available in many colours and designs on a roll or as tiles.
- Wood: Treated engineered wood is a possibility for bathrooms suiting some styles. Flooring, however, care must be taken when using. Not ideal for those with children
Bathroom Walls
The materials covering your bathroom walls have to compliment the flooring while being durable, water and moisture resistant and easy to clean.
Panels: Easy to fit waterproof panels are available in various grades in multiple designs and colours.
Paint: Areas of your bathroom walls that are not panelled or tiled will be coated in bathroom paint in a colour that compliments your design.
Tiles: Most bathrooms feature tiles in ceramic or glass. Tiles are durable, hardwearing, waterproof and easy to clean.
Wood: Treated wood panels can be fitted in certain bathroom areas, just not in the bath zone or shower.
Bathroom Suites
A bathroom suite includes a bath, basin and toilet. Bathroom suites are available in multiple sizes to fit any space.
Bathroom suites fall into two categories traditional and modern.
Traditional Bathroom Suites are rounded and may include prominent features. We use traditional suites in a coastal, farmhouse, victorian etc. Bathroom designs.
Traditional baths are generally freestanding, while toilets include a high or close-coupled toilet. Basins have a pedestal or are stand mounted.
Modern Bathroom Suites are squarer with less prominent features and curves. We fit modern suites in contemporary, modern and minimal style bathrooms.
Modern baths usually include a panel unless it’s a contemporary freestanding bath. Toilets are wall hung, hidden, or close coupled. Basins can sit on or under the counter or be wall-mounted. There are many basin options on offer for the modern bathroom.
Bathroom Showers
Most bathrooms fitted these days include a shower. We fit them all above your bath or in an enclosure. Showers include
- Mixer: Traditional mixer shower taps fitted to your bath mix both hot and cold water to provide the desired heat.
- Electric: Electric showers heat water instantly, so you can have a shower even when there’s no hot water in your cylinder.
- Digital: Showers with the latest digital controls for accurate heat adjustment and consistent water temperature.
- Eco: Eco showers are for the environmentally conscious. They use less water than conventional showers.
- Power: A pump increases pressure for a powerful, satisfying shower.
- Thermostatic: Thermostatic showers maintain the temperature at safe levels ensuring no scalding occurs. Perfect for those with children.
Storage & Fittings
Bathroom storage is included in all installations. Toilets and Basins can be incorporated with specially built units. Cupboards, shelves and bathroom cabinets are options also.
We’ll ensure the storage is functional and works seamlessly with the day to day use of your bathroom.
The design will include other fittings such as toilet roll holders, towel racks, toothbrush holders, mirrors, etc. Just tell our bathroom designer what you need, and it will be included.
