New Boiler Installations & Replacements
We can replace your old Boiler or install a brand new Boiler and new central heating system.
Boiler Replacements
Most of the Boiler installations we undertake are straightforward replacements. We remove your old Boiler and fit a new one to work with your existing radiators, valves, pipes, and cylinder (if you have one).
Central heating components such as pipes and radiators tend to outlast Boilers, two-three times the lifespan in most cases.
So when the Boiler reaches the end of its life, we remove it and fit a modern upgrade Boiler in its place.
We can also upgrade your central heating system to make it perform better.
Or we can upgrade your central heating system to accept a different type of Boiler.
You may have a traditional Boiler with a central heating system that utilises water tanks and a hot water storage cylinder.
If your heating and hot water usage is moderate, we can remove the cylinder and water tanks and install a modern combination boiler, giving you more cupboard or loft space.
Alternatively, suppose your family has grown since your last Boiler installation and requires more hot water. In that case, we can remove your old combi boiler and replace it with a modern system Boiler and cylinder.
There is a multitude of options when it comes to Boiler replacement. Our engineer will go through the options during your free survey.
New Boiler Installations
If you have an old central heating system with an efficient Boiler, rusting radiators and leaking pipes, you may want a brand new system fitted.
If you extend your home, you’ll need a powerful enough boiler for your existing space and the new radiators, pipes and maybe underfloor heating in your new space.
Modern condensing Boilers used in conjunction with new radiators, smart valves and controls offer unparalleled versatility, energy efficiency and convenience.
Whatever your situation, our engineers can design and fit the perfect Boiler and accompanying central heating system for your home or new space—providing the right amount of heat for each room and enough hot water to serve your family.
New Boiler Energy Efficiency
New Boilers offer much better energy efficiency, especially Boilers over ten years of age.
While your old Boiler may still run, it will be nowhere near as efficient as a modern condensing Boiler.
Boilers should last over ten years, especially if you keep up with annual servicing.
If your Boiler is over ten years old, or you’re having ongoing issues, it’s time to consider upgrading to a modern condensing Boiler.
Old Boilers can be as low as 55% efficient, which means 45% of the fuel is wasted.
When you consider running a Boiler accounts for up to 60% of a household’s fuel bill, a substantial amount of money is wasted when running an old Boiler.
The latest condensing Boilers we install offer 90-99% energy efficiency. In addition, the new condensing Boiler captures excess heat and reuses it to heat water, so you get the very most out of all fuel burned.
Not only do you save money by installing a new Boiler, but you also lower your carbon footprint, making your home more environmentally friendly.
No Boiler Issues Or Breakdown
New Boilers won’t breakdown, and as long as they are maintained (serviced every year), they should go many years without issue.
Aged Boilers are more prone to issues and breakdowns, which often occur in wintertime when they are running the most.
Boiler failures and issues are inconvenient and frustrating. Boiler repairs can be costly. Parts for some old Boilers are no longer available either.
Often it’s more cost-effective to have a new Boiler installed than undergo a repair once Boilers reach a certain age.
Once you have a new Boiler installed, you won’t have to worry about Boiler failures, and as long as you have an annual Boiler service, your Boiler will be guaranteed for several years (depending on the make and model of Boiler). So if there is an issue, you won’t have to pay for it.
Free Boiler Installation Survey
If you require a new Boiler, we would like to offer you a free no-obligation survey and quote.
A survey allows an experienced engineer to determine the best Boiler for you by considering.
- Available fuel
- Property size
- Number of radiators
- Number of bathrooms
- Your heating & hot water requirements
- Space available
- Current Boiler
- Current Boiler Location
- Your budget
- Your requirements and needs
These factors will determine the best type of Boiler for your home.
Fuel Types
If your home is connected to the gas grid, you will most likely have a gas Boiler installed, as they are the cheapest to run. Also, gas is a clean, environmentally friendly fuel. If gas isn’t available, electricity, LPG or Oil Boilers can be installed instead.
Boiler Types
Boilers are either combination, system or regular.
Combination Boilers
Combination Boilers are often fitted in small to medium-sized homes. Combi Boilers don’t have a hot water cylinder or bulky water tanks.
Everything is built into the Boiler. Water is heated instantly and sent to your hot taps and radiators.
Out of all Boiler types, combis are the swiftest to install and the easiest to service/maintain.
System Boilers
System Boilers are generally a better option for mid to larger sized homes, with more than one or two bathrooms.
A system Boiler includes a sealed, pressurised storage cylinder which ensures there’s always an ample supply of hot water. The pressurised system can also provide better hot water pressure.
Regular Boilers
Regular Boilers are traditional systems that work on gravity and are kept topped up with feed tanks.
Regular Boilers also include a hot water storage cylinder, although they are not pressurised.
Regular Boilers feature in older homes and are often replaced with modern compact combi or system boilers.
However, regular Boilers are suitable for supplying multiple bathrooms, so they are helpful in the largest of properties.
Boiler Sizes
Boiler size is essential. The Boiler needs to be powerful enough to supply your radiators and hot water, but not too powerful that it wastes energy.
The survey allows the engineer to pick the best size Boiler for your home and situation.
General Boiler sizes include
- 24-27kw – Small to medium homes with up to 10 radiators
- 28-32kw – Medium to large homes with up to 10-15 radiators
- 35-42kw – Large homes with 15+ Radiators
