Tap Installation
Installing a Tap is a core component of plumbing services. It entails a certain degree of expertise, the correct tools, and knowledge of the various Tap types available in the market.
We install all types of Taps, which include
Pillar Taps
Pillar Taps are traditional and come as a duo, one each for hot and cold water, each with a separate spout.
Mixer Taps
These Taps consolidate hot and cold water within a single fixture and release water from one spout, offering easy temperature control.
Monobloc Taps
These are a subtype of mixer Taps where the controls for hot and cold water are unified, typically needing a single Tap hole.
Quarter Turn Taps
These Taps leverage ceramic disc technology, allowing them to turn on and off with just a 90-degree twist of the handle.
Wall-Mounted Taps
As their name implies, these Taps are affixed directly onto the wall, offering a minimalistic and sleek look.
Pull-Out Spray Taps
These are specifically designed for kitchens and feature a spray head that can be detached from the Tap itself.
Touchless Taps
Also referred to as sensor Taps, these are operated by a motion sensor and eliminate the need for manual intervention.
Freestanding Taps
These standalone units are commonly paired with freestanding bathtubs. They bring a dash of luxury and sophistication to any bathroom.
Understanding each Tap type’s unique attributes, advantages, and installation specifics is vital in making an informed decision when choosing a Tap. One of our Plumbers will help you decide the best one for your kitchen or bathroom.
Tap Repairs
Our Plumbers can repair any type of Tap. Typical Tap repairs include:
- Fixing leaks.
- Changing worn-out washers.
- Replacing defective cartridges or ceramic discs, depending on the kind of Tap.
A dripping Tap often indicates that the washer, a tiny rubber component responsible for sealing the water flow when the tap is not in use, is due for replacement. Over time, the washer can become deformed, harden or simply wear out, resulting in its inability to form a proper water-tight seal.
Similarly, cartridges, which control the water flow and temperature in mixer taps, can degrade or get damaged, leading to leaks or issues with regulating water temperature.
Ceramic discs inside certain Taps control the water flow. However, they can wear out over time, causing leaks or hampering the smooth operation of the Tap.
