Heating
Next, we look at the heating. Most bathrooms will have a radiator. We fit all types of radiators, including standard, column, towel rail, Designer and verticle.
Radiators
All radiators have the latest thermostatic valves, which precisely control the temperature. Smart valves, which are managed via an app, are another option.
Underfloor Heating
We can also install Underfloor Heating. A warm floor is delightful when you step out of the bath or shower, adding another dimension of luxury to your new Bathroom.
Lighting
Bathroom lighting is resistant to moisture and heat. Ceiling lights are recessed or semi-recessed for added protection.
We fit lights and bulbs that enhance your Bathroom’s colours and style. We can also fit extra lighting over mirrors, making them easier to use.
Natural light from windows is also taken into consideration when designing your Bathroom.
Walls
Walls are fitted with durable, water-resistant materials.
Tiles
Tiles are the most common wall coverings in bathrooms. They are made of glass, stone, ceramic, and porcelain and come in multiple shapes and sizes, as well as hundreds of colours and designs.
Tiles are extremely durable and waterproof, lasting many years. Moreover, tiles can be fitted in multiple patterns such as ‘linear’ ‘brick’ ‘herringbone’ ‘diamond’ ‘modular’ and more.
Panels
Panels are the main alternative to tiles. They are available in different grades and many designs and colours. In addition, panels are 100% waterproof and are quicker to fit than tiles.
All wet areas of your Bathroom (the areas around the shower, bath and basin) will be tiled or panelled. In addition, you may have your whole Bathroom tiled or panelled.
Paint
Coat the remaining walls with bathroom paint for partially tiled or panelled bathrooms. Use a colour that compliments the design and style of your Bathroom.
Bathroom Suites
Bathroom Suites include a toilet, basin and bath. They are available in multiple lengths and heights to fit in all spaces.
Toilets and basins are usually ceramic, and baths are usually acrylic or steel. However, stone and other materials are also used.
Modern Or Traditional
Bathroom suites are available in a range of modern and traditional designs. Modern suites tend to be sharp, sleek and minimal, while traditional suites include prominent features and curves.
Baths, Toilets & Basins
Baths, toilets, and basins are available in multiple types and are a wide range to suit everyone’s requirements. While the wide range can seem overwhelming, don’t worry. Our bathroom fitter will explain the differences during the survey.
Both types include standard with a panel, ‘L’ or ‘B’ shower baths, corner, freestanding and walk-in.
Toilet types include high or low-level, close-coupled, back-to-the-wall, corner, high cistern, rimless, and wall-hung. You can even get Smart toilets now (or Japanese toilets, as they are otherwise known). They flush automatically when you move away from the Toilet.
Basin types include pedestal, semi-pedestal, countertop, wall-hung, corner, inset, and under-the-counter.
Flooring
Bathroom flooring is durable and 100% waterproof.
Floor Tiles
Tiles work exceptionally well on Bathroom floors. They are durable, look good and work with most Bathroom designs.
Floor tiles are available in a range of shapes, sizes and materials. However, porcelain is the most common, hard-wearing and crack-resistant.
Slate, granite, and marble tiles are alternatives to Porcelain tiles. Floor tiles are available in endless colours and patterns, and like the walls, they can be fitted in various patterns.
Vynil Flooring
Vynil is another common Bathroom flooring material and is often the first alternative to tiles. Vynil is available in many colours and designs, rolled out over the floor or fitted as tiles.
Concrete Flooring
Concrete floors are an excellent bathroom floor material. Once treated, they’re waterproof and easy to clean. However, concrete must be retreated periodically to retain its water resistance.
Wood Flooring
Engineered wood can be fitted in bathrooms, although you must be careful not to get it too wet, as it can become slippery and warp. It is not the best flooring material, but it does suit some designs and styles.
Rubber Flooring
Rubber is an option for bathrooms used by children, disabled people, and older people. It grips exceptionally well, has excellent non-slip properties, and provides a soft landing if someone slips. Rubber is available on a roll or in tiles. The colours are limited.
Taps
Taps are fitted to your bath and basin. In addition, shower thermostats and mixer taps can be fitted if you don’t have an enclosure and want to incorporate a shower with the bath.
Taps are available in hundreds of classic and modern designs in different sizes and colours.
Modern taps include disc cartridges that remain drip-free when turned off. The cartridges and mechanisms are also easy to replace if they wear out.
Tap types include pillar, mixer, monobloc and wall mounted with ball, disc, cartridge or washer mechanisms.
Showers
Showers are fitted in an enclosure or over the bath. Shower baths are ‘L’ or ‘B’ shaped, providing additional room for showering.
We fit all shower types, including mixer, thermostatic, electric, digital, eco and power.
Mixer showers mix hot and cold water. Thermostatic showers keep the temperature constant. They won’t let it get hotter than set for safety.
Electric and digital showers include a built-in thermostat to control the temperature. Eco showers preserve water, while power showers include a pump to increase power.
Storage
Storage is built into every Bathroom. It includes shelving, cupboards, and units. Storage can be freestanding or incorporated with the fixtures and fittings, such as the basin and toilet.
