Are you in need of a Gas installation? Or do you have an old Gas cooker that needs disconnecting?
We can help you
TM Hughes & Son offer a wide range of gas services in Canvey Island, including gas cooker installation and disconnection.
Despite the rise of the induction hob, Gas Cookers have retained their popularity, especially amongst the more enthusiastic home cooks, as cooking over gas remains the most accurate cooking method.
The only minor inconvenience with gas cookers is. This is because a Gas Safe Registered engineer must fit them. They are not a plug-in appliance, nor is fitting a gas appliance a DIY job.
Incorrect fitting of gas cookers can lead to gas leaks and even explosions. That’s why you must use a certified engineer.
We have installed lots of Gas Cookers in Canvey Island over the years. The process is quick and done correctly and legally using a strict procedure.
We Install All Gas Cookers, Ovens & Hobs
We install and disconnect all types of gas cookers, such as
- Gas Cookers
- LPG Gas Cookers
- Gas Range Cookers
- Built-In Gas Ovens
- Dual Fuel Cookers
- Gas Hobs
- Built-In Gas Hobs
Fitting A Gas Cooker
Once you have the arrival date for your new gas cooker, give us a call or send us an email.
Let us know the model of your new gas cooker and your required time and date of fitting, and we’ll give you a price, and if you’re satisfied, we’ll book you in.
Our engineer will disconnect your old gas cooker and inspect the gas cooker connection, pipework and ‘hot zone’.
This short inspection ensures your gas pipework’s in good order and the cooker connection’s compatible with your new appliance. If not, we can fit a new cooker connection for you.
The hot zone is the area above and around the cooker. Combustible materials such as shelves, units, cable, trunking etc., must be a certain distance away from the cooker’s heat, so there’s no fire risk.
Our engineer will ensure the hot zone’s ok before fitting your new cooker, ensuring there are no obstructions within 750mm above the hob and 50mm to each side for a safe and legal installation.
Your new cooker is carefully unpacked and connected to the gas supply.
Next, the engineer will switch on your gas cooker and test as set out by the cooker manufacturer’s instructions.
Finally, the engineer will write you an installation record. Keep hold of the document in case you ever need to claim on the warranty (conditions of warranty usually state the cooker must be fitted by a Gas Safe Registered engineer. The record proves this)
