The Gas Cooker Installation Procedure
If you need a new Gas Cooker installed and/or an old cooker disconnected, contact us with your details, and we’ll provide a quote. If you’re happy with the price, book a convenient time and date for an engineer to visit.
The engineer will arrive on the day at your booked time and present their Gas Safe Id.
First, your old cooker’s disconnected from the gas supply and removed.
Before installing your new cooker takes place, the engineer will carefully examine the area around the cooker.
An area above (750mm) and to the sides (50mm) of the cooker must be clear from combustible materials such as kitchen units, sockets, switches, shelves, cables etc. This area is known as ‘The Hot Zone’.
The engineer will also inspect the gas connection to verify it’s suitable for your new cooker. If not, then a new connection can be fitted.
If everything’s good in the Hot Zone, the engineer will unpack and connect your new cooker to the gas supply. Afterwards, the gas supply is switched on and checked to ensure no leaking gas.
After installation, your new cooker is switched on and tested per the cooker manufacturer’s instructions to ensure everything works as it should.
