Alex was polite, friendly & efficient when he came to service the boiler.
When we needed a new boiler, TM Hughes supplied and fitted it promptly and efficiently. The heating/hot water system was checked thoroughly after installation, including existing radiators, and the kitchen cleared and tidied afterwards. I have used this company for a number of years for boiler and hot water cylinder checks and maintenance, and can recommend them to others.

Hi Terry. I just wanted to say that Dylan was brilliant last evening. He phoned ahead, arrived when he said he would, did the job very professionally and was charming. Just thought you should know. Time will tell whether our problem is sorted but Dylan also had some good ideas about next steps if it is not. Great service from TH Hughes - would highly recommend.

Replaced my Nest thermostat as Google stopped the app for the learning 3 and T M Hughes replaced it with the latest Hive Thermostat very pleased with the service and how quickly they installed it thanks

Second boiler service carried out by TM Hughes. One this October and one in October 2024. Both times the engineer has been professional, friendly and competent.
TM Hughes have always been reliable and helpful with various jobs in my home, including moving a boiler to the other side of the room. Would highly recommend.
It only took one phone call, no messing around the technician was at my house spot on time. Didn't take long to spot the broken part and placed an order and it's due sometime next week. Everything was placed back left no mess.Very pleased with the service.
Used Alex from TM Hughes to remedy a fault with my hot water cylinder. Two visits required were prompt, on time and the fault effectively rectified. I'll hopefully use Alex for future work and servicing on my hot water installation.

My boiler service was carried out at short notice as i was moving out - the engineer was on time, polite and completed the works quickly - also supplying my with email versions of the reports which are useful in the house selling process.
TM Hughes & Son were very responsive coming out quickly to assess our boiler when it stopped working and advised us on a replacement boiler as it would have been too expensive to repair. James came round within the week to replace the boiler. He was polite, answered all our questions, gave good advice and completed the job efficiently and well and we thankfully have heating again. Would recommend.

Can't speak highly enough of Terry & his staff. Terry gave a very competitive quote for the work needed & fully informed me of what was involved. He was more than happy to answer any questions i had regarding the job, which was very helpful. Alex installed my new boiler, i was impressed with his time keeping & he worked non stop all day long. He also cleaned up as he went along. The quality of his work is excellent i am very impressed, its great to have peace of mind that you have a plumbing company like this that you can call on if & when needed. I would definitely recommend them.

Absolutely first class service, although he was very busy he still found a bit of time to take a look and see why we had no heating or hot water. I thought that this level of customer service died out a long time ago but totally impressed by the "above and beyond" dedication that was shown to try and help us. I cannot recommend them high enough, if there was a facility to give a 'perfect 10' then Terry would easily get it. As they say, Forget the rest, just call the best
Terry and Alex were amazing at helping us with our boiler. Making an effort to fit us in at short notice and working on a Saturday to install a new one so that we weren’t long without hot water / heating. Terry is also very communicative and willing to help over the phone and unsociable hours! I would recommend.

Great service and nice guys! I had a complex underfloor heating issue. They came out and assessed it. A week later came with all the parts and fixed it. Gave some great advice on how to maintain the system and made some cost saving recommendations. Definitely would use them again.

If any of your friends or family have had Underfloor Heating installed, they will have likely told you how nice it feels underfoot and how it’s so much better than the old radiators.
They’re not wrong. Not only does Underfloor Heating make a home feel warmer and cosier, it consumes less energy than traditional heating systems, saving you money on your energy bills.
As a bonus, eliminating the old radiators free’s up wall space, making each room appear larger and look better.
Underfloor Heating pipes are concealed under the floor. As a result, they cannot be seen and are unlikely to be damaged. Systems are also maintenance-free, requiring little attention over the space of many years.

Wet System Underfloor Heating
- Wet System Underfloor Heating uses hot water drawn from the Boiler to heat a network of pipes that run under the floor in a snake-like fashion across the whole area.
- Wet pipes are fitted with insulation such as Celotex, screed or specially made aluminium plates. The type of insulation used will depend on your floor.
- Pipes are laid on top of solid floors and in between joists on suspended floors. Underfloor Heating systems offer many solutions to work with all flooring types.
- Once fitted, tiles, carpet, laminate flooring etc is fitted over the top.
- The pipes heat the insulation, which retains and omit heat for many hours, even after the heatings have been switched off.
- Unlike traditional radiators, the rooms heated over the entire surface area, unlike conventional radiators, which only heat the room from one location on a wall.
- Underfloor Heating pipes are attached to a manifold, a pump, motorised valves, which take up little room and are hidden away in a discreet cupboard.
- Thermostatic controls are fitted, some of which allow the temperature to be set on a room by room basis.
Electric System Underfloor Heating
- Electric Systems use electric cables which run under the floor and are heated by electricity.
- Like wet systems, the cables are fitted with insulation which heats up and emits heat for many hours.
- Electric Underfloor Heating is offered in various types to cope with all flooring situations. A system can be set into a screed or laid on top of an existing floor.
Wet Vs Electric Underfloor Heating
- A Wet Underfloor Heating system can only be fitted in homes with a central heating system.
- Electric Underfloor Heating can be fitted in any home
- Wet systems are more complex and time-consuming to fit
- Wet systems are more expensive to install than electric systems

Underfloor Heating Servicing
We offer servicing for existing Underfloor Heating systems. While most systems run trouble-free for many years, it helps to have everything checked from time to time.

Adjustments are made, seals are tightened, and washers are replaced, ensuring everything is in good working order.

Underfloor Heating Repairs
Older Underfloor Heating systems can develop issues such as cold spots or faulty valves and pumps.
If a valve or pump fails, then your Underfloor Heating system won’t function.
Repairs are usually swift and straightforward as all the working components are above ground and easy to replace.
Cold spots can be remedied by removing any excess air trapped in the system.
If you are unlucky enough to suffer a burst pipe under the floor, we can quickly locate the leak with our thermal imaging equipment. Once we know where the leak is, we can get to the pipe and repair it.
