The chances of breakdown are considerably lowered after servicing also.
Safety
Servicing involves safety checks on the working parts, flues & chimneys, ensuring the whole systemโs safe and doesnโt pose a carbon monoxide risk. All gas appliances are a carbon monoxide risk if fuels not burned properly, or there are issues with flues and chimneys. Servicing uncovers any faults allowing us to rectify them so you and your family are safe. A carbon monoxide alarm should be placed in the same room as your Fire. We can advise on this if necessary during the service.
Warranties
Most warranties and home breakdown cover isnโt valid unless your Fireโs been serviced in the last twelve months. After the service, youโll be presented with a service record that proves your fires been serviced to the correct standard. Use this to validate your fire warranty or breakdown cover.
Landlords
Good landlords ensure Gas Fireโs in their properties are serviced. A good time to service is during the compulsory annual gas safety checks.

- Turn off the gas supply
- Clean fire assembly
- Remove components
- Clean burner unit, pipes, catalysts, inline restrictor and pilot assembly
- Turn on gas supply
- Test fire for gas leaks
- Test chimney/flue ventilation
- Test pressure
- Check Fire is working properly
- Write service record

Does Your Fire Need Servicing?
