Designing And Building The Best Bathroom For You
The first step is to inspect your current bathroom and show you the possible options. Then, we would like to offer you a free no-obligation survey and quote.
Book a convenient timeslot, and our Bathroom Designer, who is an experienced professional (not a pushy salesman on commission), will come to your home to undertake your free survey.
Your bathrooms measured, and he’ll go through every part with you—the suite, tiles, flooring, Heating, fittings etc.
Bathrooms are designed and built to your requirements where you choose the materials and look you want.
Or, if you’re unsure, our bathroom designer will show you a few samples and different themes.
Alternatively, we can base the bathroom design on images you have seen and liked online or in a magazine.
We will also consider other factors such as your Heating and hot water usage and, most importantly, your budget. We build all kinds of bathrooms at all price ranges ranging from value for money materials to top-end luxury materials.
Once we have all the relevant information, our bathroom designer will go away, get the best prices for your materials and write and send you a free no-obligation quote.
If you’re happy with the quote, we can then arrange a date to start work. A plan is formulated to ensure your bathrooms are built swiftly yet efficiently, minimising day-to-day disruption to you and your family.
Bathroom Materials
The Bathroom Materials will make or break your bathroom design. All have to work in conjunction for the best possible day to day use and to create a stunning look.
There are thousands of different bathroom materials on offer when you go into each part’s different types, shapes, patterns, and colours.
One thing they all have in common is they must be water and moisture resistant.
The Bathroom Floor
Not only must bathroom flooring be waterproof, but it must also be non-slip. There are various options.
Floor Tiles
Porcelain bathroom floor tiles are trendy in newly built bathroom installations. They are robust, easy to clean and hygienic they also work with all other bathroom materials and are available in endless designs and colours with several shapes. However, squares and rectangles are the most common. Some tiles are slippery when wet, while others have a course texture that acts as a built-in grip.
Vinyl
Vinyl is cheaper and easier to fit than conventional bathroom tiles. It’s also very durable.
Vinyl can be equipped from a roll or tiles, a soft material available in many designs and colours that can be slippery when wet.
Concrete
Concrete and stone floors are a trendy addition to new bathrooms in Epping. While concrete and stone look good, it’s tricky to fit and needs occasional maintenance.
Slate & Marble
Our team can also fit slate and marble into bathrooms. Both are challenging materials to work with but once down will look fantastic for many years to come.
Rubber
Rubber flooring is ideal for children and elderly persons bathrooms. Very grippy underfoot even when wet and soft in case of slippage or falling over. Available on tiles or a roll, not the best looking bathroom flooring material but the safest.
Wood
Engineered wood is a possibility as long as you take care not to get it too wet. While engineered wood has a good level of water resistance, it’s the poorest when compared to other types of bathroom floors. However, some bathroom designs require a wooden, rustic look, and as long as you have responsible users (not excited small children), you should be ok.
The Bathroom Walls
The materials fitted to your bathroom walls will make up a significant part of the overall look of your bathroom. Like the floor, the materials need to look good, complimenting your style while being waterproof and moisture resistant.
Wall Tiles
Ceramic Wall Tiles are the number one bathroom wall material. Tiles will create any look and style with a vast choice of colours, designs and shapes. Again squares and rectangles are the most common. All ceramic tiles are available in gloss, matt, satin and textured finishes.
While ceramic is the most used and most easy to cut tile, we can also fit porcelain and stone tiles which better compliment some designs.
Wall Panels
Bathroom Wall Panels are quick and easy to fit and ensure the walls around your bath and shower are protected from water. Acrylic, PVC and Laminate panels are on offer in multiple designs and colours.
Acrylic is the best bathroom wall panel being the highest quality of all three, although they can be pricey and not within everyone’s budget.
PVC does the job well and is the cheapest of all panels, a popular option for budget bathrooms and rented properties.
Laminate panels are made from dense MDF or plywood layers and are 100% waterproof with many designs on offer.
The Bathroom Suite
Bathroom Suites generally fall into two categories—traditional, rounded and modern, which are squarer.
Multiple bath sizes and types of toilets and basins are available, along with taps and other fixtures and fittings to match.
Most bathroom suites are white, although other colours are available for those who want the suite to match their walls and floors.
Suites are made from acrylic or steel other exotic materials such as copper and stone are also an option for high-end designer bathrooms.
The type of suite fitted will depend on the bathroom look you want.
The Shower
Nearly all bathrooms in this day and age include a shower located in its enclosure or over the bath. Our experienced plumbers and gas engineers fit all showers such as electric, mixer, power and modern digital showers.
The Heating
No one wants a cold bathroom. Therefore, we include Heating in all bathroom designs and builds.
Heated towel radiators are the first choice, so you can have lovely warm towels when you step out of the bath.
Gas engineers can fit standard and designer radiators for which there are many designs also.
Underfloor Heating is another option. You’ll love the feel underfoot when getting out of the bath or shower. Underfloor Heating can work on its own or in conjunction with a radiator.
The Finishing Touches
Once we have the fundamentals in place, we’ll consider the finishing touches. Items such as the lighting and task lighting aid in grooming and all-important storage for those essential items such as towels, toilet roll, washing, and cleaning products.
Lighting and storage are fitted to compliment the overall design and look of your bathroom.
