What should I say about T M Hughes.
Firstly it’s a great company that do a great job at a fair price. Terry the governor came round 1st to view the job (replacing the boiler and changing the system from a pressure system to a combi system) and I received the price of the work to be done the same night, and was very happy with his work ethics and the quote I received. The work was carried out within a week by one of his engineers called Alex, who knew his job and carried out the work to the highest of standards. I could not recommend this company highly enough.

I’m extremely happy with the boiler service carried out by Kai. He was very professional, kind, and polite throughout the visit, and his work was completed to a very high standard. Terry and his team (with a special mention for Pavell) did a great job of renovating our central heating system. They replaced two of our twelve radiators, a circulating pump and a valve. They then power flushed the whole system. In thirty plus years the system has never worked as well as it does now! They turned up on time, did the job in line with the estimate and provided great follow up to make sure we were happy. We will definitely be using them again.

The Service

  1. Give us a call or use our contact form to book a Gas Fire Service at a convenient time
  2. The engineer will arrive at the agreed time and present their Gas Safe Registration card before work commences
  3. The work areas covered with dust sheets
  4. The gas supply is turned off
  5. The fire assembly is cleaned
  6. Internal components are cleaned. This includes the burner unit, pipes, catalysts, inline restrictor and pilot assembly
  7. The parts are reconnected, the fires reassembled
  8. The gas supply is turned on
  9. The engineer checks the fire for gas leaks
  10. Burner pressures checked it’s essential for fires to burn fuel at the correct rate
  11. The chimney or flues tested to make sure exhaust gasses are expelled
  12. Safety devices are tested
  13. A service records written

Enjoy The Benefits

Once your fires serviced, they’ll run at best possible efficiency (how efficient will depend on your fire, age and condition) possible for your fire. You’ll enjoy comforting heat and a saving in your energy spend.

It’s doubtful your fire will break down following service, all parts are thoroughly cleaned, and any issues that could cause your fire to fail will be uncovered during the service.

The service will validate your warranty and home emergency covers. Both are usually only valid if the fires serviced every twelve months. In the event of a defunct part or breakdown, you’ll be able to claim without the fear of rejection.

Service gives you peace of mind your fires safe and not a carbon monoxide risk. Testing the pressure, burn rate, and exhaust (flue/chimney) ensure carbon monoxide isn’t a threat. Carbon monoxide alarms should be present in the same room as your gas fire.

If you’re a landlord, it’s good practice to have gas fires serviced every twelve months. Although this isn’t compulsory by law, it does ensure your tenants are safe. We can undertake a service at the same time as Gas Safety Checks or an annual Boiler Service.
