Tap Installation & Repairs
Our Plumbers install taps to meet different needs in bathrooms, kitchens and gardens.
Here’s a rundown of the types of Taps we install and repair.
Pillar Taps
These are individual taps where one tap delivers hot water, and the other delivers cold. They are mostly installed on bathroom basins and kitchen sinks.
Mixer Taps
These taps mix hot and cold water, allowing temperature control with a single lever or two separate controls. They are fitted in both kitchens and bathrooms.
Monobloc Taps
A type of mixer tap, but the hot and cold water flows through a single spout. A single lever usually controls the temperature and flow.
Wall Mounted Taps
These are fitted into the wall rather than onto the sink or bath. This style is popular for both aesthetic and space-saving reasons.
Bib Taps
These are typically wall-mounted and protrude straight from the source. They’re commonly used in utility rooms and outside for garden taps.
Bath Shower Mixer Taps
These are bath taps with a built-in showerhead, offering a dual function. By adjusting a lever or knob, you can divert the water flow from the tap to the showerhead.
Thermostatic Mixer Taps
These taps have a built-in thermostat that mixes the hot and cold water to a pre-selected temperature, ensuring the water remains at a consistent temperature even if there are fluctuations in the water supply to prevent scalding.
Quarter Turn Taps
These taps operate with a quarter turn of the handle, making them quick and easy to turn on or off.
Sequential Mixer Taps
These are designed so that cold water is released first, and as the handle is turned further, the water becomes warmer. This design minimises the risk of accidentally turning on hot water at a high temperature.
Tall Basin Taps
These are designed for countertop basins where the basin sits atop a worktop. The tap is taller to accommodate the additional height.
Pull Out & Pull Down Taps
Primarily used in kitchens, these taps have a spout that can be pulled out or down, acting like a showerhead, which is useful for tasks like rinsing fruits and vegetables.
Sensor Or Touchless Taps
These taps use sensors to detect hand movement, turning on when hands are placed underneath and turning off when they’re removed. They’re often used in public toilets for hygiene and water-saving but are also becoming more popular in homes.
Garden Taps
These are typically robust outdoor taps designed to be weather-resistant. They are used for garden hoses and watering.
