Winter ends, and your old boiler has survived another year and kept you warm all winter. Spring arrives, the nights are getting lighter the heating’s turned off (unless you get a freezing night). Come the summer you will forget about your old boiler even though in the back of your mind you know it’s high time for a new one. Thoughts of replacing your Boiler will disappear while you enjoy the summer.
Winter comes, and there’s a sudden unpleasant cold snap your Boiler won’t switch on, it just won’t start. You phone your regular gas engineers; they can’t get to you until later in the week. The cold snap has them overloaded with emergency call outs. Two miserable days pass, an engineer arrives he quickly diagnoses the fault on your old boiler. Your engineer rings around and finds out the part’s no longer available, and the casing’s leaking as well, not a good sign. Your boiler needs replacing.
Maybe the engineers wrong? Perhaps someone else can fix it? You find another engineer he gives you a second opinion, and it’s the same your boiler needs replacing and quickly unless you want to live in a cold house?
Unfortunately, the above scenario is prevalent, we see it every year an old boiler finally breaks down beyond repair, and it’s always in winter when the boiler has to work the hardest.
Boiler installations best when the Boilers used the least. In the spring and summer when your heatings switched off. Installing a new boiler in the warmer months gives you adequate time to decide which boiler’s best for you. You have time to determine your budget, discuss your requirements, read reviews and get prices.
Once the research’s complete, you have time to sit back and think about what you want out of your new Boiler. Time to decide what’s the right one for your home and better for your energy bills. A luxury you won’t have if you need a fast replacement in the depths of winter. A new boiler in the warmer months allows you to pick the date of your installation at a time most convenient for you.
Emergency boiler replacements in winter are done ASAP when an engineer can fit you in which isn’t always the most convenient time for you. Boiler installations take time, and you could be without heating for a couple of nights in the summer this isn’t a problem as your heatings never on anyway. But winter? Boiler failure in winter is always unpleasant and disruptive. A boiler installation is a big decision and shouldn’t be rushed having a new boiler fitted in the warmer months is the safest option.
