Why Gas?
Gas is a greener fuel than electricity; cooking with gas ensures a smaller carbon footprint. Cooking is more accurate with even heat distribution. It’s for this very reason professional chefs always use gas over electricity.
Many insist that gas cooked food tastes better. Gas ovens are a firm favourite with the residents of Billericay. Once you have an oven, you need an experienced engineer to disconnect your old oven and ft your new one.
Warranties & Home Insurance
Gas cookers and hobs are very reliable devices, and most oven manufacturers offer long warranties. Many warranties are only valid if the ovens been fitted by a Gas Safe Registered engineer the same often true for breakdown insurance as well)
The Hot Zone
Before booking an installation, you need to be sure the ‘hot zone’ area’s suitable for your new cooker.
The ‘hot zone’ is the area above the cooker. No combustible materials are allowed in the hot zone area—750mm above the hob and 50mm on each side of the hob.
Ensure there are no kitchen units, shelves, switches, sockets, smoke alarms, electric cables, trunking, boilers or wallpaper/wood cladding in the hot zone area, anything that could catch fire.
If you’re unsure, give us a call, and one of our engineers will advise.
Gas Connections
Your new cooker needs to be within 1.5 meters of the gas line and have a suitable connection that’ll allow a tight and safe fitting. If this isn’t the case with your gas line/connection, don’t worry, we can fit the required pipes and connection to make the installation work.
